| Project Detail : | Nutraplus India has decided to establish a commercial bio gas (CBG) plant as part of its strategy to address rising energy demand and reduce dependence on imported energy resources. The company has already identified vendors for the installation and secured leasehold land for the project, which is aimed at tapping the widening demand-supply gap in India’s energy sector. The initiative aligns with the Government of India’s GOBAR-DHAN scheme, launched in 2018–19, which promotes the development of CBG plants to support clean energy generation and rural waste utilization. The project is expected to generate valuable by-products such as biomass pellets, which can substitute coal in thermal power plants, and organic compost manure that supports sustainable agriculture. The government’s proposed five percent biogas blending with LNG is projected to significantly reduce import costs, while associated policy incentives could drive large-scale adoption of organic fertilizers under the Market Development Assistance scheme. Nutraplus India has been working on this project since 2021 and views it as a zero-waste circular economy model with strong ESG benefits. The company also plans to explore carbon credits as an additional revenue stream while powering the facility through renewable energy, primarily solar, reinforcing its long-term sustainability and energy transition goals. |
