| Company Name : | Private Company |
| Project Detail : | The Maharashtra government has announced a Rs 2,500 crore initiative to transform the state into a premier global tourism hub. Under this plan, 100 tourism sub-circuits will be developed across five administrative divisions, with each circuit receiving an investment of Rs 25 crore over the next five years. This strategic expansion aims to move beyond existing major hubs like Mumbai, Pune, and Nagpur to identify micro-destinations at the local level. The focus will be on specialised sectors including historic forts, culinary experiences, and pilgrimage sites to diversify the state's travel offerings. Beyond physical infrastructure and basic amenities, the government is prioritising a digital overhaul through a new integrated tourism portal. This platform will eventually host 1,00,000 tourism units, including hotels, homestays, and transport operators, providing a seamless one-stop shop for travellers. By strengthening the tourism ecosystem, the state intends to create large-scale employment opportunities. This long-term vision aligns with development goals for the next decade and the broader "Viksit Bharat @2047" objective, ensuring Maharashtra remains a top choice for both domestic and international tourists. |
