Project Title :BASF to set up two global capability centres in Hyderabad to boost digital, service operations
Company Name : Private Company
Project Detail :BASF, one of the world’s largest chemical manufacturers, has announced plans to establish two global capability centres (GCCs) in Hyderabad, and submitted a letter of intent (LoI) to the Telangana government, to this end.
The proposed facilities include a Global Digital Hub and a Global Services Hub, marking a significant expansion of the company’s operations in India. The LoI was formally handed over by BASF representative Tobias Dratt to Telangana Life Sciences CEO Sarvesh Singh in the presence of IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu and German Consul General Michael Hasper. The initiative aligns with Telangana’s broader strategy to position Hyderabad as a global innovation and engineering hub rather than just an office services destination. The Minister informed that the state government aims to establish 100 GCCs annually, generating employment for around one lakh IT professionals. Supporting infrastructure initiatives include AIKAM, Young India Skills University, a 200-acre AI City, a Quantum Hub, and One Bio Lab for life sciences research.
“Founded over 160 years ago, BASF operates in more than 200 countries with 234 production facilities and a workforce of over 1,08,000 employees. With an annual revenue of nearly Rs 5 lakh crore (around $60 billion), Hyderabad securing this prestigious investment against global competition is a matter of pride for the state,” Minister Sridhar Babu stated.
