| Project Detail : | Solex Energy has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat to develop an integrated renewable energy manufacturing ecosystem with an investment of around Rs 4,000 crore. As part of the agreement, the company plans to establish a five GW solar cell manufacturing facility, to be executed in two phases—2 GW in the first phase and 3 GW in the second. In addition, Solex Energy will set up a 10 GW battery energy storage system (BESS) manufacturing unit, enabling its presence across both solar and storage value chains. The initiative is expected to enhance domestic manufacturing capabilities, reduce import dependence, and align with India’s push for self-reliance in renewable technologies. The integrated ecosystem will also contribute to the broader clean energy supply chain and industrial development in Gujarat. Chairman and Managing Director Chetan Shah stated that the project will strengthen India’s renewable manufacturing base and support long-term energy transition goals through advanced solar and storage solutions. |
