| Project Detail : | NTPC has declared the commercial operation of 100 MW out of a total 176 MW capacity at its solar photovoltaic project in Ramagundam, Telangana, effective 02 May, 2026. With this addition, the company’s total installed capacity has reached 89,805 MW, while its commercial capacity stands at 88,725 MW. According to management guidance for FY2026–27, NTPC is on track to approach the 100 GW total capacity milestone in FY27. The company plans structured capacity additions of around 2,300–2,400 MW over the next two months, supporting its annual 5 GW expansion target. Upcoming projects include approximately 1,000 MW at Khavda, 200 MW at Bhadla, 250 MW at Kalasar, along with 300 MW of wind capacity from Gujarat assets and 500–550 MW from the Ayana portfolio. The Ramagundam project also aligns with Telangana’s renewable energy strategy under the Clean and Green Energy Policy 2025, which targets significant solar procurement and renewable capacity expansion. The state aims to add 12,000 MW of renewable energy by 2030 through phased competitive bidding led by the Telangana Green Power Procurement Coordination Committee. In Q3 FY26, NTPC added 1,744 MW of capacity, which included 694 MW from renewable energy projects and 250 MW from the THDC pumped storage project. |
