| Project Detail : | Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav laid the foundation stone for the Indore–Pithampur economic corridor on 03 May, 2026, a major infrastructure project expected to attract investments worth Rs one lakh crore. The initiative is aimed at transforming the Ujjain–Indore metropolitan region into a key industrial and logistics hub. The corridor, developed at a total cost of Rs 2,365 crore, will connect Indore with Pithampur and integrate with major transport infrastructure, including the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway, national highways, rail networks, an inland container depot, and Indore airport and cargo terminal. The first phase involves constructing a 20-km-long, 75-mtrs.-wide road at a cost of over Rs 350 crore. The project will support sectors such as IT, fintech, data centres, global capability centres, green industries, and knowledge-based industries. It is expected to generate both direct and indirect employment for around six lakh people. The state government is also developing 48 industrial parks and six expressways to accelerate growth. With investments exceeding Rs nine lakh crore already realised during the current tenure, Madhya Pradesh is positioning itself as one of India’s fastest-growing industrial states, while also involving farmers through fair compensation and development participation. |
