Project Title :Lloyds Metals and Energy doubles pellet capacity with second plant commissioning in Maharashtra
Company Name : Lloyds Metals And Energy Limited
Project Detail :Lloyds Metals and Energy has commissioned its second pellet plant with a capacity of four million tonne per annum (MTPA) at Konsari, Maharashtra. The plant was completed in 16 months from the start of construction, highlighting the company’s rapid execution capabilities. With this expansion, the total pellet production capacity at the Konsari site has doubled to eight MTPA.
The first pellet plant is already operating at full utilisation, which is expected to support a smooth ramp-up of the new facility. The Konsari complex is strategically integrated with the company’s captive iron ore mines at Surjagarh, ensuring a steady and cost-efficient raw material supply. Ore is transported through an 85-kilometre slurry pipeline commissioned in June 2025, strengthening operational efficiency and logistics reliability.
For a company operating in the steel value chain, expanding capacity is just one aspect of growth. The real advantage comes from integration across mining, logistics, and processing, which helps reduce costs and enhance profit margins.
This integrated setup enables the production of low-alumina pellets, which typically fetch better pricing in both domestic and export markets, enhancing profitability and competitiveness. The expansion further reinforces the company’s position in the steel value chain through backward integration and improved supply chain control.
