| Project Detail : | The long-awaited JSW Rayalaseema Steel Plant is set to commence construction at Sunnapurallapalli in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh within three weeks. This integrated steel facility represents a significant economic milestone for the region, with a first-phase investment of Rs 4,500 crore expected to generate 1,000 employment opportunities. A subsequent second phase will see an additional infusion of Rs 11,850 crore, bringing the total employment potential to 2,500 and the production capacity to two million tonne per annum (MTPA). The project is supported by robust infrastructure, including a 400 kV double circuit transmission line, two tmc ft. of water from the Gandikota reservoir, a 12-km four-lane road, and a dedicated 12-km railway link. Environmental clearances are already in place, and land has been formally transferred to JSW. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is expected to visit the site for the commencement, signaling a major boost for industrial growth and youth employment in the backward Kadapa district. |
