| Project Detail : | Power Finance Corporation (PFC) has announced the incorporation of four wholly owned special purpose vehicle (SPV) companies through its subsidiary PFC Consulting (PFCCL) to facilitate the development of key power transmission projects in Rajasthan and Karnataka. These SPVs will undertake preparatory activities for independent transmission projects, strengthening the country’s power infrastructure. The newly formed entities include Babai Transmission and Bikaner Transmission in Rajasthan, focusing on 765kV grid substations and associated transmission systems. In Karnataka, Humnabad Power Transmission and Hebbani Power Transmission will develop 400kV transmission systems in Bidar and Mandya districts, respectively. These projects are aimed at enhancing grid connectivity, improving power evacuation capacity, and supporting growing electricity demand across regions. PFCCL will play a crucial role as the bid process coordinator (BPC), having been appointed by the Ministry of Power to oversee the selection of project developers through tariff-based competitive bidding for Independent Transmission Projects (ITPs). The initiative reflects PFC’s continued commitment to strengthening India’s transmission network and enabling efficient power distribution through structured project development and private sector participation. |
