| Project Title : | Adani Ports partners with Kaleris to invest up to USD 100-mln in AI automation across terminal network |
| Company Name : | Adani Ports And Special Economic Zone |
| Project Detail : | Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has expanded its partnership with US-based Kaleris to deploy advanced AI-enabled operating and optimisation solutions across its global network of 15 container terminals. As part of the collaboration, APSEZ plans to invest up to USD 100 million in two phases to accelerate automation, digitalisation, and operational efficiency across its ports and logistics infrastructure. The initiative forms a key component of the company’s broader strategy to invest USD 850 million in technology and decarbonisation projects by 2031. Under the multi-year agreement, Kaleris will implement its terminal operating system and AI-powered container handling solutions throughout APSEZ’s network. Building on successful deployments at six ports, the next phase will create a unified digital backbone by integrating advanced planning, automation, optimisation, and operational capabilities across all terminals. The company expects significant productivity improvements, including up to a 20 percent increase in rubber tyred gantry (RTG) crane productivity and a 14 percent improvement in terminal truck efficiency. These enhancements are expected to support APSEZ’s objective of unlocking an additional 91 million tonne of cargo handling capacity by 2030, equivalent to around 10 percent of its current installed capacity. The expanded deployment will leverage artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), computer vision, and advanced analytics to improve yard utilisation, accelerate vessel turnaround times, enable smarter resource allocation, and enhance customer experience. |
