| Project Detail : | The Andhra Pradesh government has launched a strategy targeting over Rs 20,000 crore in investments to establish the state as a leading multi-experience destination. ntred around the new Tourism Policy 2024–29, the government has granted industrial status to the tourism sector, introducing competitive incentives like capital subsidies, SGST reimbursement, and stamp duty exemptions to drive private public-private partnerships (PPP). Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan have led this push, which includes 117 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) signed over the last two years. These projects are projected to create 1.22 lakh work opportunities initially, with a long-term goal of generating employment for five lakh people, developing 50,000 classified hotel rooms, and setting up 10,000 homestays. Global hospitality giants—including Taj, Marriott, ITC, Hyatt, Oberoi, and Hilton, are set to add over 7,700 hotel rooms. Infrastructure upgrades feature seven anchor tourism hubs, over 25 tourism circuits, and major MICE destination developments in Amaravati, Visakhapatnam, and Tirupati. The state is also introducing niche concepts like heli-tourism, luxury cruises, and improved pilgrimage facilities. |
