| Project Detail : | Malaysia-based Hotayi Electronics has announced an investment of nearly ?700 crore in Gujarat to strengthen the state’s semiconductor and electronics manufacturing ecosystem. The company will establish a new manufacturing facility at Sanand-II GIDC in Ahmedabad, where the Gujarat government has allotted five hectares of land for the project. The investment will be made over the next 10 years and is expected to support India’s growing semiconductor ambitions under the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ initiatives. The facility will manufacture advanced DRAM memory modules, solid-state drives, server and data centre memory modules, and automotive electronics such as LED lighting and infotainment systems. Hotayi Electronics is also a key supply chain partner of global semiconductor major Micron. Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi said the project will boost technological advancement and create large-scale employment opportunities through smart manufacturing and AI-driven automation technologies. Gujarat has rapidly emerged as a preferred destination for global technology and semiconductor firms due to its strong infrastructure and industry-friendly policies. Sanand is becoming a major semiconductor hub in India, with companies like Micron and Kaynes Semicon already commencing production operations in the region recently. |
