| Project Detail : | RMZ Corp plans to invest over USD 35 billion over the next five years across data centres, artificial intelligence infrastructure, mixed-use commercial developments, and housing projects in India. A significant share of the investment, nearly half, will be directed towards digital infrastructure, including large-scale data centres and AI-driven facilities. The company is developing co-location data centres in partnership with Colt Technology Services across key cities such as Navi Mumbai, Chennai, Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru. Near-term plans include adding 750 MW of capacity in Navi Mumbai and around 500 megawatts in Visakhapatnam, with a long-term target of achieving 1.5 gigawatts of nationwide capacity. The digital infrastructure segment alone is expected to attract USD 12–15 billion in investment. RMZ stated that the expansion will be funded through a mix of debt and equity while also exploring an initial public offering to secure long-term capital. “India currently generates approximately 20 percent of the world's data but accounts for just 2 percent of global data centre capacity. National installed capacity stands at 1.1 to 1.2 gigawatts, against a projected demand of 5 to 7 gigawatts over the next five years. RMZ has constituted a separate entity to develop AI factory capabilities on top of its existing co- location infrastructure, offering GPU as a service to cloud providers and AI companies establishing operations in India,” the statement said. |
