| Project Detail : | Frozen food maker HyFun Foods will invest Rs 900 crore to set up a new manufacturing unit in North Gujarat to expand its production of French fries and potato specialties. The facility, expected to be operational by November–December 2026, will be the company’s sixth unit, adding to its existing operations in Mehsana. The expansion will increase the company’s French fries capacity to 2,45,000 tonne and its potato specialties capacity to 40,000 tonne. HyFun’s total potato processing capacity will rise from 3,50,000 tonne to 7,00,000 tonne. The company works with about 7,000 farmers across Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh and plans to expand its farmer network to 12,000–15,000. Exports account for 70 percent of HyFun’s revenue, and the company is planning geographic expansion, including into Uttar Pradesh. HyFun is also preparing for an IPO, planned for 2028–29. “The new capacity will come online by November–December 2026 and will start with the new crop in January 2027. We expect to reach Rs 3,500 crore by FY28,” Haresh Karamchandani, MD and Group CEO, HyFun Foods, said. |
