| Project Detail : | Premier Energies has commissioned a 400 MW solar cell manufacturing facility in Telangana, marking a key step in its Rs 11,000 crore expansion plan. The Hyderabad-based clean energy firm said the new facility, located at E City in Maheeshwaram, was commissioned on 22 January, 2026. With this addition, the company’s solar cell manufacturing capacity has increased from 3.2 GW to 3.6 GW, according to Chief Business Officer Vinay Rustagi. Premier Energies aims to more than double its annual solar cell and module capacities to 10.6 GW and 11.1 GW respectively by 2028 to meet rising domestic demand. The company currently operates 5.1 GW of solar module capacity at its Hyderabad units. The expansion is being funded through Rs 1,300 crore raised via last year’s IPO, a Rs 2,200 crore debt arrangement with Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency, and internal accruals. The company also plans to enter ingot and wafer manufacturing to become a fully integrated renewable energy player in India. |
