| Project Detail : | The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has approved a major set of reforms aimed at making the Capital’s water distribution cleaner, more transparent and environmentally sustainable. The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has approved a major set of reforms aimed at making the Capital’s water distribution cleaner, more transparent and environmentally sustainable. The Board also approved scientific desilting of the Wazirabad Barrage pondage area to boost raw water storage, a move that will generate revenue instead of costs. Sewer connectivity and decentralised sewage treatment projects were also cleared to protect the Yamuna. The Board also approved sewer connectivity projects for the four groups of colonies—Sangam Nagar, Ranhola, Wazirabad and Begumpur, benefitting nearly 12.5 lakh residents. In addition, the Zindpur decentralised sewage treatment project was cleared to ensure that untreated sewage does not flow into the Yamuna. |
