| Project Detail : | The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has now approved a Rs 630 crore project to address the lack of direct connectivity between two major highways in Andhra Pradesh. For decades, the Konaseema region, which was previously part of the undivided East Godavari district, lacked direct connectivity between NH-216 and NH-65. The highways passing along opposite sides of the region, were not linked, leaving a significant gap in the transportation network. Despite Ravulapalem being brought under the National Highway system, the absence of a direct connection between these highways led to inefficiencies and delays. The new road will connect key areas of the district, easing travel from Ravulapalem to Amalapuram, reducing the travel time and improving the flow of goods such as agricultural produce, seafood, and business materials. The project, which involves acquiring land from 727 farmers across 22 villages, will widen and upgrade the road to accommodate future traffic, with the aim of relieving daily congestion and boosting the local economy. |
