| Project Detail : | ChemVolt Global has signed an MoU with the Andhra Pradesh government to establish a five GWh lithium-ion cell manufacturing gigafactory with a planned investment of Rs 2,500 crore. This project will strengthen India's battery manufacturing capabilities for grid-scale energy storage, clean mobility, and commercial applications. The factory will create about 1,500 direct and over 4,000 indirect employment opportunities in various sectors. The facility will be built in phases, with the first phase aiming for a one GWh production line by 2027, followed by four GWh by 2029. The plant will produce prismatic lithium-ion cells designed for grid storage and electric vehicles. Kuldeep Gupta, Founder & CEO of ChemVolt, emphasised that this initiative is a major step for ChemVolt and India’s energy future, aiming to make India a global hub for advanced lithium-ion cell production. Additionally, ChemVolt launched its Cell-to-Grid portfolio, featuring advanced energy storage systems for commercial and utility-scale use. |
