Project Detail :The World Bank's Board of Executive Directors has approved three projects to support Assam, a state in northeastern India, in addressing critical challenges such as climate vulnerability and inadequate infrastructure.
The Assam Disaster Resilient Hill Roads Development Project, worth USD 350 million, aims to build climate-resilient roads in hilly areas, benefiting 190,000 people and improving connectivity in the region. The Assam School Education and Adolescent Wellbeing Project, valued at USD 250 million, will enhance learning outcomes for over 2 million primary school students and provide life-skills training to two million adolescents to better prepare them for the workforce. Additionally, the Assam Governance and Service Delivery Program, with a budget of USD 80 million, will strengthen public financial management and improve administrative services.
