| Project Title : | Cambi signs agreement with NCC to upgrade Malad wastewater treatment plant in Mumbai |
| Company Name : | Private Company |
| Project Detail : | Cambi ASA has entered into a letter of intent with Indian infrastructure company NCC to supply its thermal hydrolysis process (THP) technology for the upgrade of the Malad wastewater treatment plant in Mumbai. This facility, developed by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, is part of a larger initiative to modernise the city's sanitation infrastructure. The Malad plant will become Cambi’s second THP installation in Mumbai and its second in India. The project is expected to move to a final contract following the completion of initial design work and commercial discussions, with the system scheduled for delivery by 2027. Once operational, the new THP system will enhance biogas production, reduce truck movements, and produce low-odour biosolids that can replace chemical fertilisers. Cambi sees this project as a key step in strengthening its presence in India's wastewater treatment sector, supporting Mumbai's push for more sustainable and cost-effective sanitation solutions. |
