| Project Detail : | The Punjab government's expert committee has approved the proposed Compressed Biogas (CBG) plant at Bagga Kalan village, following the company's commitment to eliminate pesticide and insecticide residues from the biomass. The company has agreed to operate the plant under zero-pollution norms, addressing both environmental and health concerns raised by local residents. The committee, which included experts from agriculture, bioenergy, and environmental sciences, was satisfied with the technological amendments suggested to ensure the plant's sustainability. Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain assured that no steps would be taken without safeguarding villagers' interests. He emphasised the environmental benefits of the project, which uses paddy straw, offering a solution to stubble burning. DC Jain further stated, “The Bagga Kalan CBG plant will be completely pollution-free and will create local employment opportunities, boosting the rural economy.” The project, part of the state's green initiatives, is expected to contribute significantly to sustainable energy production. |
