| Project Detail : | A major infrastructure boost is underway in South Delhi as the Delhi Public Works Department (PWD) has granted administrative approval for a Rs 1,471.1 crore elevated road project along the Mehrauli–Badarpur Road. The project involves the development of a 12 km integrated transit corridor designed to ease long-standing traffic congestion on one of the capital’s most crowded stretches. The corridor will include a six-lane elevated roadway along with a network of underpasses, aiming to streamline traffic flow between Saket’s G Block and Pul Prahladpur. The project has been carefully planned to align with infrastructure being developed by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), ensuring efficient coexistence of road and metro systems along the same route. This integrated approach is expected to improve connectivity while minimising disruptions. The corridor passes through densely populated areas such as Mehrauli, Saket, Khanpur, Tughlaqabad, and Pul Prahladpur, making it crucial for daily commuters. It also serves as a key link connecting Delhi with nearby NCR cities like Gurgaon and Faridabad, enhancing regional mobility and reducing travel time. |
