| Project Detail : | The Government of Goa has approved the development of 300 MW solar PV power projects along with 150MW/900MWh energy storage systems (ESS) at an estimated cost of over Rs 1,300 crore. The project will require around 650 acres of land, likely in Canacona. The solar plant will be implemented on a build-own-operate-transfer (BOOT) basis through tariff-based competitive bidding and will be connected to the state transmission utility (STU) network. The initiative aligns with the Government of India’s target of achieving 500GW renewable energy capacity by 2030. The Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA) will sign a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) on behalf of distribution companies with the selected developer. The selected solar power developer (SPD) will be responsible for planning, design, construction, ownership, operation, and eventual transfer of the project, including grid connectivity, transmission lines, substations, and necessary approvals. Overall, the project aims to boost Goa’s green energy capacity, attract private investment, and strengthen sustainable energy infrastructure in the state. |
