| Project Detail : | Brigade Hotel Ventures (BHVL) plans to invest around Rs 1,000 crore in Karnataka over the next five years to expand its hospitality footprint, focusing on experiential tourism and premium travel markets. The announcement coincides with the 10th anniversary of Grand Mercure Mysuru, the company’s flagship hotel property that has played a significant role in establishing luxury leisure hospitality in Tier-II cities. The investment will support new hotel developments and the modernisation of existing assets across the state. As part of its broader “Vision 2031” strategy, BHVL also plans to add nearly 1,700 room keys over the next five years with a total projected capital expenditure of Rs 3,600 crore. Company executives said Mysuru has evolved from a weekend tourist destination into a major business and heritage hub, providing the operational and financial confidence required for wider expansion across Karnataka and South India. Since opening in 2016, the 146-key Grand Mercure Mysuru has become a prominent hospitality destination during the city’s Dasara celebrations and a benchmark for upscale tourism in emerging urban markets. BHVL said its growth strategy will continue to prioritise sustainability, community integration and wellness-led travel experiences, while benefiting from rising domestic and international tourist inflows into Mysuru and Karnataka. |
