| Company Name : | Private Company |
| Project Detail : | Tata Elxsi and Infineon Technologies have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly develop electric vehicle (EV) systems tailored to Indian requirements. The partnership will focus on high-voltage inverters, battery management systems, onboard chargers, and thermal management solutions for electric two-wheelers, three-wheelers, passenger vehicles, and commercial vehicles. Additionally, both companies will explore opportunities in electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL), energy, and off-highway applications. Tata Elxsi, a Tata Group company specialising in design and systems integration, will contribute its engineering expertise, while Infineon will provide advanced semiconductor technologies including silicon carbide-based components, microcontrollers, and integrated circuits. The collaboration aims to create safe, high-performance automotive systems that meet the stringent Automotive Safety Integrity Level D requirements under ISO 26262. “Currently, several of our EV solutions are already built on Infineon SoCs and components. This MoU further strengthens our partnership by giving us a clearer scope and tighter system-level alignment,” said Nambi Ganesh, Head of Automotive, Tata Elxsi. Infineon Asia-Pacific's SVP Kenneth Lim emphasized the goal of developing ready-to-deploy EV systems combining advanced technology and safety. EV sales in India grew by 25–30% in 2024, underlining the segment’s rapid expansion. |
