Project Title :GAIL to invest Rs 844-cr for gas pipeline capacity expansion in India
Company Name : GAIL India Limited
Project Detail :GAIL (India), the state-owned gas utility will invest Rs 844 crore to enhance the capacity of its Dahej-Uran-Dabhol-Panvel (DUPL-DPPL) natural gas pipeline network. Currently operating at 19.9 million standard cubic mtrs. per day (mmscmd), the pipeline’s capacity will be increased to 22.5 mmscmd over the next three years.
The decision was approved by the Board of Directors on June 23. In a separate update, GAIL revised the completion timeline for its 1,702-km Mumbai-Nagpur-Jharsuguda pipeline (MNJPL) project from 30 June to 30 September, 2025. The project cost has risen by Rs 411.12 crore to Rs 8,255.37 crore, higher than the originally approved Rs 7,844.25 crore. Progress has been hindered by delays in obtaining forest, NBWL, and highway clearances.
While 98 percent of the Nagpur-Jharsuguda and 97 percent of the Nagpur-Jabalpur segments are complete, minor sections remain due to land acquisition issues. Additionally, GAIL extended the completion timeline for its 744-km Srikakulam-Angul pipeline from June to December 2025. Of the 322 km of spur lines, 252 km have been completed.
