| Project Detail : | The Municipal Corporation (MC) of Yamunanagar and Jagadhri has approved a Rs 186 crore investment to upgrade the sewerage infrastructure in the twin cities in Haryana. The decision was made during a House meeting chaired by Mayor Suman Bahamani in Yamunanagar. The move aims to address persistent issues related to sewage overflow and inadequate drinking water supply. During the meeting, a proposal was presented to resolve the sewage-related concerns. Mayor Bahamani and MC Commissioner Akhil Pilani questioned officials from the Public Health Engineering Department regarding the ongoing problems. In response, officials announced that 114 km of sewage pipelines will be laid in Yamunanagar at an estimated cost of Rs 114 crore, while 20 km of pipelines will be installed in Jagadhri. Additionally, a new sewage treatment plant (STP) will be constructed with an investment of Rs 75 crore to support the improved infrastructure. The pipelines will be extended across all colonies under MC’s jurisdiction, ensuring better sanitation and wastewater management for residents. The project reflects the civic body’s commitment to improving urban infrastructure and public health standards, particularly in rapidly growing urban zones like Yamunanagar and Jagadhri. |
