Project Title :Gujarat Ramps up Housing in Dholera to Support Tata’s Chip Plant

Project Detail :The Gujarat government has set out for ramping up residential infrastructure development in Dholera to support the upcoming Rs 91,000 crore semiconductor fabrication plant by the Tata Group. Around 1,500 serviced apartments are being developed for expatriates, Tata employees, and workers from the company’s partner and supplier network, as per The Economic Times.
Out of the total, 275 units are already ready, with 250 currently occupied. An additional 225 apartments are nearing completion near the under-construction chip plant in the Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR). Work has also commenced on another 1,000 units, scheduled to be completed by early 2026. Additionally, Tata has been allotted 10 acres to develop its own residential complex, where it plans to construct 530 apartments by mid-2027. Supporting infrastructure is also underway.
A Global Tent City, featuring international food streets, is being developed alongside facilities such as a school, hospital, desalination plant, fire station, mall, and hotel. These are being built by private developers on government-auctioned land. At the groundbreaking ceremony in March 2024, Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that the first chip from the Dholera facility is expected to roll out by December 2026.
