Project Title :Heritage Panel grants conditional approval for new Collector’s Office in Aurangabad
Company Name : Private Company
Project Detail :The Heritage Conservation Committee (HCC) of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation has conditionally approved the construction of a new District Collector’s office on the site of the former Labour Colony. This clearance is subject to eight specific conditions, and failure to comply could lead to revocation of the permission.
The meeting, chaired by HCC chairman Jayant Deshpande, was held on 03 June at the Smart City office. Members present included Mukund Bhogale, Dr. Shaikh Ramzan, and Mohammad Iqbal, among others. Demolition of 338 houses in the Labour Colony began in May 2022, and efforts to construct the new administrative building have been ongoing for over two years. Since the proposed site lies adjacent to heritage structures like the Rangeen Gate and a 20-acre fortification wall (fasil), HCC’s approval was crucial.
The conditions include submitting the NA conversion status, original PR card and site map, NOCs from the Pollution Control Board and Fire Brigade, transfer of the adjoining 30-mtrs. road to the Municipal Corporation, setting up an independent electricity transformer, a survey map, tree-felling NOC, and safeguarding the fort wall while developing a surrounding garden.
