| Project Detail : | The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has approved infrastructure contracts worth over ?12,000 crore during its 284th Executive Committee meeting. The approvals span critical works across Metro Lines 2A, 2B, 4, 4A, 5, 6, 7, 7A, 9, and the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL), focusing on civil works, systems, rolling stock, power supply, depot infrastructure, and digital monitoring. Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis said, “The Government of Maharashtra is committed to delivering infrastructure that not only meets the demands of today but also anticipates the needs of tomorrow. The approval of projects worth over ?12,000 crore by MMRDA is a significant step towards realizing Mumbai’s vision of a world-class, integrated, and inclusive transport network. These projects will accelerate economic activity, enhance urban mobility, and improve the quality of life for every citizen. This is not merely an investment in metro corridors; it is a strategic advancement towards a smarter, more connected Maharashtra.” Key Contracts Approved: ?4,788 Cr – Metro Lines 4 & 4A Larsen & Toubro will deliver integrated systems including rolling stock, CBTC signaling, telecom, PSDs, and depot equipment with 5 years’ maintenance. ?557.55 Cr (Revised) – Metro Line 4A Revised civil works contract for Gownipada and Gaimukh stations under Package CA-54. ?188.59 Cr – Metro Line 4 L&T to undertake ballastless trackwork from Bhakti Park to Mulund Fire Station. ?668.15 Cr – Metro Line 6 IRCON International to install power supply, traction, E&M systems, lifts, and escalators with 5 years’ maintenance. ?551.41 Cr (Revised) – MTHL Package-4 Covers ITS, toll systems, ATMS, lighting, admin buildings, and central control center. ?2,269.66 Cr – Metro Line 6 NCC Ltd. to provide rolling stock, signaling, telecom, PSDs, and depot equipment with 5 years’ maintenance. ?535.08 Cr – Metro Lines 4 & 4A Multi-modal integration works across 32 stations awarded in 4 packages to various JVs. ?497.46 Cr – Metro Line 5 IRCON to implement 220 kV RSS, OHE, SCADA, E&M systems, and Kasheli Depot with 5 years’ maintenance. ?432.63 Cr (Revised) – Metro Line 2A Additional fee granted to DMRC for continued implementation under deposit work terms. ?249.97 Cr – Metro Lines 4 & 4A Aurionpro Solutions to deliver AFC systems along Wadala–Gaimukh corridor with 5 years’ maintenance. ?114.98 Cr – IDDP Infra Monitoring Censys Technologies selected to integrate real-time digital monitoring systems. ?118.28 Cr – Metro Lines 9 & 7A OHE, cabling, power, and SCADA systems to be delivered by Leena Powertech–Umesh Brothers Consortium. ?99.99 Cr – Metro Line 2B Paras Railtech wins ballastless trackwork contract, 17.82% below estimated cost. ?70 Cr – Metro Lines 9 & 7A AFC system contract awarded to L&T Technology Services–Amnex JV. USD 7.59 Mn + ?14.29 Cr – Rail Procurement Mitsui–Nippon Steel consortium to supply 6,900 MT of 1080-grade head-hardened rails. Foot Overbridges (FOBs): ?77.38 Cr (Package 1): KBA Infra–Shree Manglam Buildcon JV (Cadbury & Majiwada). ?129.04 Cr (Package 2): J Kumar–PRS JV (Pant Nagar, Vikhroli, Bhandup, Vijay Garden). Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Shri Eknath Shinde, Chairman, MMRDA, commented, “These landmark approvals by MMRDA underscore the Maharashtra Government’s unwavering commitment to building a globally benchmarked transport infrastructure for Mumbai. With over ?12,000 crore of strategic investments, we are advancing toward a seamless, sustainable, and inclusive metro network and other infrastructure that will define the next era of urban mobility for the state.” Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, IAS, Metropolitan Commissioner, MMRDA, further stated, “Each project approved today has been meticulously evaluated to ensure it contributes meaningfully to the integrated growth of Mumbai’s transport infrastructure. From systems integration and rolling stock to traction power, AFC, and MMI works, these contracts are aligned with our goal of achieving operational readiness across key corridors. The focus remains on enhancing last-mile connectivity, accelerating commissioning timelines, and delivering commuter-centric infrastructure that supports seamless, multimodal movement across the MMR.” |
