| Project Detail : | The Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (Metro Water) has floated tenders to upgrade the underground sewer network in Adyar, Teynampet and Kodambakkam zones at an estimated cost of ?800 crore. The project aims to replace ageing pipelines, reduce sewer blockages and prevent road cave-ins. The works will include installing new CI and DI pipelines, upgrading sewage pumping stations and setting up odour control and real-time monitoring systems. The project, funded by the Asian Development Bank, will begin in the Nesapakkam STP catchment area and is expected to be completed within two years. |
