| Project Detail : | Spanish defence major Indra and Indian technology firm AXISCADES Technologies have entered into a strategic partnership to manufacture aerospace and defence systems in India. This was announced at the Aerospace Show taking place this week in Le Bourget. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by Indra CEO José Vicente de los Mozos and AXISCADES Chairman Dr. Sampath Ravinarayanan, with key executives including Indra Chairman Angel Escribano and AXISCADES CEO Alfonso Martínez present. As part of the agreement, AXISCADES will locally produce Indra’s defence systems, such as antennas for Tactical Air Navigation Systems (TACAN), Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) for aircraft navigation, and countermeasure systems to defend against missile threats like MANPADS. This move significantly expands Indra’s manufacturing footprint while tapping into AXISCADES’ proven design, development, and production capabilities. The two firms are also exploring joint product development tailored to both Indian and international markets, including potential collaborations on MPA Airborne Solutions and DRDO’s CABS MRMR and MMMA programs.
