| Company Name : | Private Company |
| Project Detail : | The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved two railway projects worth ?6,405 crore under the Ministry of Railways. The projects include doubling of the Koderma–Barkakana section (133 km) in Jharkhand, a key coal-producing region and the shortest rail link between Patna and Ranchi, and the Ballari–Chikjajur section (185 km) across Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. The new rail lines will boost capacity, improve operational efficiency, and reduce congestion, supporting Indian Railways’ service reliability. These multi-tracking projects align with PM Modi’s vision for a self-reliant India by driving regional development and creating employment opportunities. Developed under the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan, the projects ensure integrated multi-modal connectivity, enhancing movement of people, goods, and services. Covering seven districts across the three states, the projects will expand Indian Railways’ network by 318 km and improve connectivity for approximately 1,408 villages with a population of 28.19 lakh. These are essential routes for transportation of commodities such as coal, iron ore, finished steel, cement, fertilizers, agriculture commodities, and Petroleum products etc. The capacity augmentation works will result in additional freight traffic of magnitude 49 MTPA (Million Tonnes Per Annum). The Railways being environment friendly and energy efficient mode of transportation, will help both in achieving climate goals and minimizing logistics cost of the country, reduce oil import (52 Crore Litres) and lower CO2 emissions (264 Crore Kg) which is equivalent to plantation of 11 Crore trees. |
