| Project Title : | Adani Group plans transportation network as part of for Dharavi Redevelopment in Maharashtra |
| Company Name : | Adani Group |
| Project Detail : | The Adani Group has announced plans to build a comprehensive transportation network as a key component of the Dharavi redevelopment project in Mumbai. Approved by the Maharashtra state government earlier this week, the Master Plan envisions a multi-modal transit hub integrating rail, metro, road, city bus, and airport connectivity. A major highlight will be airport trains and check-in and transit facilities for passengers traveling to and from the Mumbai and Navi Mumbai airports—both operated by the Adani Group. The initiative is being led by Navbharat Mega Developers, in which Adani Group holds an 80 percent stake while the Maharashtra government retains 20 percent. With flight operations from Navi Mumbai Airport expected to commence later this year, the redevelopment aims to boost connectivity for one of Asia’s largest slums. Beyond transport, the plan includes enhanced road infrastructure, a riverfront promenade along the Mithi River, healthcare facilities, green spaces, industrial zones, and recreational areas. In October 2024, the state approved acquisition of 256 acres of salt-pan land to support this massive urban renewal effort. |
