The session focused on eliminating inter-ministerial bottlenecks and expediting execution of key projects facing regulatory delays. The review addressed 18 critical issues across nine infrastructure projects, with a total investment exceeding Rs 49,040 crore. One of the major projects under discussion was the Multi-Product Pipeline from Irugur (Tamil Nadu) to Devangonthi (Karnataka), valued at Rs 17,320 crore. This cross-state project runs through Coimbatore, Namakkal, Salem, and Tiruppur in Tamil Nadu, and Kolar and Bengaluru Rural in Karnataka. Key issues such as land acquisition and forest clearance in Tamil Nadu were addressed for resolution. Another significant initiative was the 5G/4G expansion project by Reliance Jio, aiming to boost digital connectivity in remote and underserved areas, including sensitive locations like Siachen. The meeting focused on resolving pending forest and wildlife clearances in coordination with relevant state governments. The review was chaired by the Principal Economic Advisor at DPIIT, highlighting the Centre's proactive stance on fast-tracking vital infrastructure. |
