| Project Detail : | The Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPIDA) has initiated preparations for the development of nine new expressways, at an estimated investment of Rs 20,000 crore. Proposals for these expressways with a planned length of 2,096 km, have been finalised. These expressways are aimed at significantly boosting connectivity and industrial expansion across the state. Currently, operational expressways include the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, Yamuna Expressway, Agra-Lucknow Expressway, Purvanchal Expressway, Bundelkhand Expressway, and the Meerut-Delhi Expressway. Meanwhile, several other expressways are under construction, such as the Gorakhpur Link, Ganga, Chitrakoot Link, Delhi-Saharanpur, Ballia Link, and Lucknow-Kanpur Expressways. The newly proposed expressways are: Lucknow Link Expressway, Farrukhabad Link Expressway, Jewar Link Expressway, Vindhya Expressway, Meerut-Haridwar Link Expressway, Chitrakoot-Rewa Link Expressway, Gorakhpur-Siliguri Expressway and Gorakhpur-Shamli Expressway. According to UPIDA CEO Hari Pratap Shahi, seven of these will be constructed by UPIDA, while the Gorakhpur-Siliguri and Gorakhpur-Shamli Expressways will be developed by the National Highways. |
