| Project Title : | Redesign of Mango Drinking Water Project in Jharkhand approved |
| Company Name : | Drinking Water And Sanitation Department |
| Project Detail : | The Mango Drinking Water Project is set for a redesign to resolve longstanding issues and ensure fair water distribution across all localities of Mango in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. This decision emerged from a meeting chaired by MLA Saryu Roy at the Drinking Water and Sanitation Department office, with participation from Mango Municipal Corporation Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar via phone. Disparities in water supply were highlighted during the meeting, with some zones like 1 and 3 facing tank depletion, while Zone 6 received prolonged supply. In Samta Nagar (Zone 4), officials claimed half the area received water, but residents contradicted this, stating they received none. To address these issues, officials agreed to revise the original layout of the project. The Executive Engineer instructed junior engineers to identify gaps in supply and draft a detailed report. A possible interconnection of rising pipelines between Zones 4 and 6 is also under review. MLA Roy emphasised strict monitoring, and also inspected the Adityapur water testing lab and confirmed water quality was satisfactory. Additionally, a new motor pump will be procured through an ongoing tender process. |
