| Company Name : | Indigo |
| Project Detail : | IndiGo, India’s largest airline, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bangalore International Airport (BIAL) to establish its second maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Bengaluru. BIAL will allocate approx. 31 acres of land to IndiGo for this initiative. The upcoming state-of-the-art facility will be capable of servicing both narrow-body and wide-body aircraft. With a fleet exceeding 400 aircraft, IndiGo aims to enhance aircraft availability, operational efficiency, and reduce turnaround time through this facility. This move is seen as a strategic investment to support the airline's rapid growth and meet increasing operational demands. Pieter Elbers, CEO of IndiGo, stated that this partnership with BIAL underscores their commitment to long-term aviation growth in Bengaluru. MD and CEO of BIAL, Hari Marar, welcomed the development, emphasizing it as a strong vote of confidence in Bengaluru’s potential as a premier aviation hub. Currently, IndiGo operates one MRO each in Delhi and Bengaluru. This second facility is expected to significantly bolster its maintenance capabilities, benefitting both the airline and its customers. |
