Project Title :PMRDA’s Rs 3,000-cr road network to boost highway connectivity in Maharashtra.
Company Name : Pune Metropolitan Regional Development Authority
Project Detail :The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has launched a Rs 3,000-crore road network project aimed at improving traffic flow and regional connectivity in Pune.

The plan focuses on linking major highways, including Satara Road, Ahilyanagar Road, Solapur Highway, Nashik Highway, and the Pune-Mumbai Expressway, while also enhancing access to emerging townships and peripheral villages.

According to PMRDA Commissioner Yogesh Mhase, the project will ensure seamless road links across the district, with a phased repair and construction approach. The development authority has approved work in 25 villages, prioritising link roads that connect key highways. Most new roads will use durable cement concrete and feature stormwater drains and underground utility ducts to prevent future disruptions, particularly during monsoons.

To accommodate growing traffic, the road widths are being planned with future demand in mind, and technical surveys and utility relocations are underway to minimise delays. The project will be executed in multiple packages with accelerated land acquisition. Once completed, the internal road grid will offer alternate routes to decongest Pune’s arterial roads and reduce travel time for commuters and transport vehicles, particularly benefiting those in the city’s outskirts.
