| Project Detail : | Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on 22 May, 2025 inaugurated and laid foundation stone for 24 industrial projects in Kalinganagar, Jajpur district, marking an investment of Rs 1.15 lakh crore and the creation of employment opportunities to the tune of 36,000. The projects are distributed across Kalinga Nagar, Danagadi, and Badachana, reinforcing the region’s status as a strategic industrial growth node in the state. These projects span diverse sectors including steel, ferro alloys, chemicals, solar energy, refractories, automotive components, warehousing, and food processing. A key highlight is Tata Steel's Rs 47,599 crore expansion of its five MTPA Integrated Steel Plant (ISP) at Kalinga Nagar, expected to generate employemnt for 4,625 people. Similarly, JSL Group’s Rs 470 crore petroleum and solar venture, and Abis Exports’ poultry feed plant, are poised to further diversify the region’s industrial base. Among projects where groundwork has begun, Neelachal Ispat Nigam (NINL) leads with a Rs 61,769 crore steel plant expansion, promising 14,000 jobs. These developments not only inject significant capital and modern technology into Odisha’s economy but also stimulate MSME growth, job creation, and downstream industry collaboration, state officials emphasized. |
