| Project Title : | Maha Govt Approves ?683 Cr for 2 New Pune Metro Stations in Maharashtra. |
| Company Name : | Private Company |
| Project Detail : | The Pune Metro project has taken a significant step forward as the Maharashtra government has agreed to finance an additional ?683 crore for the construction of two newly proposed stations—Bibwewadi and Balaji Nagar—on the Purple Line extension from Swargate to Katraj, which spans 5.464 km. The primary objective of adding these two stations is to address the persistent traffic congestion in Pune. Recently, Maha-Metro floated a tender for the first civil contract of the Swargate-Katraj extension. The scope of the contract includes the design and construction of underground stations at Market Yard, Padmavati, and Katraj, along with associated tunnels under Stage I, and the construction of stations at Bibwewadi and Balaji Nagar under Stage II of the Pune Metro Rail Project. Back in January 2025, Maharashtra Urban Affairs Minister Madhuri Misal had proposed the inclusion of these two new stations on the Purple Line extension to better serve commuters and enhance urban connectivity. |
