| Project Detail : | JSW Energy, through its wholly-owned subsidiary JSW Neo Energy, has completed its largest-ever acquisition by purchasing a 4.7-GW renewable energy platform from O2 Power for Rs 12,468 crore. This move significantly accelerates the company’s journey toward achieving its 20 GW clean energy target well before its 2030 deadline. The acquisition adds 4,696 MW of diversified renewable capacity, spanning solar, wind, hybrid, and round-the-clock (RTC) power, further strengthening JSW Energy’s green energy footprint. With this addition, JSW Energy’s pro forma installed capacity has grown to 12,212 MW, and renewable energy now accounts for more than half of its total portfolio. O2 Power, which is backed by global investment firms EQT and Temasek, contributes 1,343 MW of operational capacity. The platform also includes a pipeline of 2,259 MW. JSW Energy plans to invest an additional Rs 13,500 crore in capital expenditure to fully build out the O2 platform by June 2027. The acquired portfolio comprises 4,100 MW of utility-scale projects and 596 MW targeted at commercial and industrial (C&I) consumers. Of the total capacity, 3,722 MW are already secured under power purchase agreements (PPAs) with creditworthy offtakers, while an additional 974 MW has received letters of award or intent. |
