Project Detail : | The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) on Friday has approved the construction of a 120.10 km, four-lane access-controlled highway project, connecting Patna, Arrah, and Sasaram. The estimated cost of the project is ?3,712.40 crore, and it will be developed under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM). According to the statement, the new corridor will include a greenfield section and the upgradation of 10.6 km of existing brownfield highway to alleviate this congestion and cater to the growing needs of densely populated areas like Arrah, Grahini, Piro, Bikramganj, Mokar, and Sasaram. The strategic alignment of the project will integrate with major national highways, including NH-19, NH-319, NH-922, NH-131G, and NH-120, ensuring seamless connectivity to Aurangabad, Kaimur, and Patna. Furthermore, it will significantly improve access to crucial transportation hubs, including: Airports: Patna’s Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport and the upcoming Bihta airport. Railway Stations: Sasaram, Arrah, Danapur, and Patna. Inland Water Terminal: Patna. Patna Ring Road: Facilitating faster movement of goods and passengers. The project is also anticipated to create approximately 48 lakh man-days of employment , providing significant economic opportunities for the local population. |
