| Project Detail : | A consortium of leading Japanese companies - IHI Corporation, Hokkaido Electric Power, Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company, Mitsui OSK. Lines, Mizuho Bank, and Tokyo Century Corporation has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore investment in a green ammonia project. The project, developed in collaboration with ACME Group, will establish a new green ammonia production facility in Odisha by 2030. The facility is expected to produce four lakh tonne of green ammonia annually, which will be transported to Japan for use by power generation companies and chemical manufacturers. The six companies will leverage their technical and financial expertise to assess the establishment of a special purpose company (SPC) for ammonia production and investment participation. Ammonia is gaining prominence as a next-generation clean energy source, and offers potential decarbonisation solutions for power plants, shipping, and industrial applications. |
