Project Detail :The 11th round of commercial coal mine auctions, launched by the Ministry of Coal on 05 December, 2024, has successfully concluded, with 12 companies securing mining rights.

Key winners include Jharkhand Exploration and Mining Corporation, Western Coalfields, Jindal Steel and Power, and Innovative Mines and Minerals. Other notable winners include Pra Nuravi Coal Mining, Singhal Business, Jindal Power, and Mineware Advisors.

A total of 12 mines, including Jawardaha North, Dahegaon, Saradhapur Jalatap East, and Namchik East, were auctioned. These mines collectively hold a geological reserve of 5,759.23 million tonne (MT) and a peak rated capacity (PRC) of 15.46 million tonne per annum (MTPA), excluding partially explored reserves. The newly auctioned mines are expected to generate an annual revenue of Rs 3,330 crore and attract a capital investment of Rs 2,319 crore.

Additionally, these projects will create around 20,902 employment opportunities, contributing to economic development in coal-rich regions. The initiative aims to boost domestic coal production, reduce import dependence, and strengthen India's energy security.
