Project Title : | Construction on Chilla elevated road resumes |
Company Name : | Private Company |
Project Detail : | Construction on the Chilla elevated road has resumed after a four-year delay. The six-lane, 5.9 km road will connect Delhi's Chilla Regulator near Mayur Vihar to the Mahamaya flyover on the Noida Expressway. It is expected to ease congestion along the Delhi-Noida Link Road, where commuters often face hour-long traffic jams. The elevated road is designed to alleviate this bottleneck and allow seamless movement between Delhi and Noida," Noida CEO Lokesh M. It is anticipated to improve traffic flow in key areas, including Sector 14A/15A, Film City, Greater Noida, Kalindi Kunj, and Faridabad. The Uttar Pradesh State Bridge Corporation (UPSBCL) is executing the project, with MG Contractors securing the contract. The road design has been submitted to IIT-Delhi for approval. The initial work includes piling, with 50 workers currently deployed, and more to be added as construction progresses. The elevated road will run parallel to the Shahdara drain and include five ramps for improved traffic access. Approved by the Delhi government in 2018, the foundation stone was laid by CM Yogi Adityanath in January 2019. However, further issues arose due to delayed funds from PWD and the need for a partial realignment of a GAIL gas pipeline. The project is now progressing with a revised budget of Rs 893 crore and is expected to be completed within three years. |
