| Project Detail : | Energy management and automation firm Schneider Electric has partnered with South Bihar Power Distribution Company (SBPDCL) to modernize and enhance South Bihar's power distribution network, aiming to deliver efficient digital energy solutions. The collaboration focuses on tackling high power demand and ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply. As part of the project, Schneider Electric established a Command-and-Control Centre and a Disaster Recovery Centre, allowing real-time monitoring and decision-making to boost grid connectivity and reliability. Additionally, the deployment of 305 Ring Main Units (RMUs) and 550 Fault Passage Indicators (FPIs) on overhead lines has improved fault detection and reduced response times. The company noted that its EcoStruxure Grid solutions significantly enhanced operational uptime and efficiency. Power reliability increased by "90 per cent, while energy consumption and cost savings have reached up to 80 per cent and 60 per cent, respectively" as per the company. The use of EcoStruxure Grid technology aims to create a future-ready power distribution system, supporting South Bihar's economic and infrastructure development. Schneider Electric emphasized its commitment to accelerating India's energy transition and enabling utilities with sustainable, scalable solution. |
