| Project Detail : | Tata Power Delhi Distribution (Tata Power-DDL) has partnered with Probus Smart Things to enhance smart metering technology through a iniversal network interface Card (NIC) with Bluetooth-enabled communication. This initiative aims to improve connectivity and efficiency in meter data collection and operations, even in areas with weak network coverage. The collaboration will lead to the development of innovative use cases and joint patent filings to secure intellectual property. According to Tata Power-DDL CEO Gajanan S Kale, this move aligns with the company’s vision of delivering reliable and sustainable energy solutions. The Universal NIC allows seamless integration with consumer mobile apps, enabling remote meter reading, reconnection, and disconnection. Initially deployed in Tata Power-DDL’s operations, the NIC’s benefits may extend to other utilities and regions in the future. Tata Power-DDL, a joint venture between Tata Power and the Government of NCT of Delhi, distributes electricity in North Delhi, serving approx. nine million people. |
