Expert agency THDL has been appointed as the supervisor for the project by the ministry, and the proposal has been finalised based on their report

The Tanakpur-Pithoragarh stretch is part of a larger road project that traverses the Char Dham pilgrim spots, which was approved by the central government in 2016 at a cost of ?12,000 crore. The construction of this all-weather road is expected to significantly improve connectivity and facilitate easier transportation between the two cities.
