Project Detail :Cabinet Minister of Urban Development and Public Works Eknath Shinde has set a 15-month deadline for completion of Satis-2 project to considerably ease traffic congestion around Thane railway station on the eastern side

The announcement was made during the ground breaking ceremony of the project on 19 February 2022. The project is being jointly executed by the Thane Municipal Corporation and Thane Smart City authorities

Once completed, the project will be the first and longest-ever elevated road connecting a railway station in Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR)

The nearly 2.4-km long, uni-directional road will be used only for public transport buses. It will start from Eastern Express Highway in Thane west to connect with the multi-tier deck on the east at Thane railway station before turning around to land on the opposite lane of the EEH

The 8,000 sq mtr deck outside the railway station will have multiple tiers with the basement reserved for parking of 325 vehicles while the second level will have ticket windows

The next deck will have restrooms and waiting halls for passengers while the uppermost deck will have access to the bus station and the railway platforms
